Ace & The Growing Family Softcover Book

Ace is a German shepherd with thick fur and lots of energy. He has lived with his human parents for four years, but he has never seen them clean the house so thoroughly or get so excited. They've been going to classes, talking to people on the phone, and even doing homework. What is going on?

Soon Ace's parents tell him that their family will be growing. As they wait anxiously, Ace decides he's going to help them by going out to find these new family members. He visits various animals around the neighborhood, but none of them seem quite right to join the family. He goes home only to find that Mom and Dad are leaving to go somewhere without him. Ace waits with Mom's sister, and eventually they come home - and they bring the new family members along with them.

Ace and the Growing Family seeks to help kids understand how the process of preparing to adopt a child looks. As we tag along with Ace, we get to see through his eyes what it looks like to watch your parents prepare to bring home a child through adoption. Although he is confused at first, Ace eventually learns what bringing home a child can look like.
